Good, Fast, or Cheap - Pick Three! In the construction industry, there are three universally accepted constraints that apply to all projects i.e. quality (good), time or schedule (fast), and the cost of allocated resources (cheap). It is generally accepted that a business can provide only two. “Good, Fast, or Cheap – Pick Two” is the axiom. You must sacrifice one to gain the chosen two, e.g. you can get it fast with good quality but it won’t be cheap. David Lange believes that through skillful use of Construction Management, you can have all three. You can have premium quality through thoughtful planning and precise execution by a Construction Manager who cares more about meeting your expectations and less about finding ways to maximize his profit at your expense. You can have timely project competitions through careful formal scheduling and up front preparation. And you can achieve lower project costs by cutting out Fixed Price Contractor’s contingencies, margins, and mark ups.
